Monrovia – The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning has started work on a new five-year strategic plan to support Liberia’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.

Acting Finance Minister Anthony G. Myers explained that the plan will serve as a guide to strengthen the ministry’s role in driving national development. Myers, who also serves as Deputy Minister for Fiscal Affairs, said the new plan will build on lessons learned from the 2019–2023 framework while fixing areas that need improvement.

He noted that a new approach is necessary because the ministry’s role has expanded since it merged with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs in 2013.

Deputy Minister for Administration Bill McGill Jones encouraged department heads and unit leaders to get involved in the process by sharing their priorities with the planning team and consultants. He stressed that the new plan should reflect the voices of all staff.

According to the ministry, the strategy will align with national goals under the ARREST Agenda and help promote inclusive growth and sustainable development.
